Pleased to see this website is working again. Or it was for a while. What happened to the planning applications section?

It's still there.

It takes a feed from fixmystreet, so it's currently showing lots of pictures of Jon Bounds, since he went on a pothole hunt the other day and uploaded whole bunch of fixes.

I can't remember the details but I seem to remember we were also taking a feed from the BCC website, which promptly stopped working. I might be wrong. Mike or Daz will know.

Planning applications has been b0rked because of the Earnest Marples takedown.

We were taking the planning applications feed from a web service that was using Ernest Marples' post code lookup service. It's how we knew we were only getting B13 planning apps. Unfortunately, Ernest was breaking the terms of the Royal Mail's licensed Postcode Address File and the Royal Mail got a little bit tetchy about it.

As soon as the man has been fought and despatched we hope to have it back.

If you think this is a bit rubbish feel free to respond to the snappily titled Policy options for geographic information from Ordnance Survey: Consultation or write to your MP

We should probably change the name of the section as it doesn't look like it will be sorted out soon. I'd assumed this would be sorted out within days but I was possibly optimistic.

If you notice anything else not working then let us know. I broke the blog section the other day and it took me ages to notice.

Can someone split this thread, please? It's gone more than a little off topic :geek:

EDIT: Oh, I worked out how to do it myself. :-bd

Well B13.org was down "for maintenance" for several years. As for the very handy planning apps, see above. I see folk have already picked up on the Tesco app.
