Apparently Maison Mayci (sp??) in Kings Heath are moving in.
Presumably an extra shop rather than closing down the Poplar Rd one.

I gather that the MM staff have been telling people that they are coming to Moseley.

A Maison Mayci in Moseley could really work - especially if it's got the space in the Sage premises that they don't have up in Poplar Road. That place is packed to the gunnals every Saturday with middle-class Mosely-ites and their little Jocastas and Ruperts.

Saturdays maybe, but what about the rest of the time?

Kings Heath seems to be the place for "yummy mummies" :ymsick: and their kiddiwinkles to hang out of a weekday. Poplar Rd is always full of mums and buggies, meeting in the cafes and shopping in People, Thyme Out and The Festival Shop. I can't see that crowd keeping Moseley going during the week, just because we have one Maison Mayci.

EDIT that's not to say I don't think it's a good idea. Mmm, cake.

My friend Patrick spoke to Remi, owner of Maison Mayci - who says they're expanding the Kings Heath shop. No mention of moving to Moseley... :(

EDIT: sorry, seems I was getting confused!
Patrick says "They are opening a Moseley branch in Sage! Not sure if it will be a clone or slightly different but it is the same people."

Is a "yummy mummie" anything like a "MILF"? (whatever that is  )

MILF means 'Mother I'd Like to F*ck', usually an 'older' woman who's still got it.

My understanding of yummy mummies is that they are younger women with young babies who have bounced back into their pre-pregnancy shapes with alarming speed, and whose offspring have an appearance of being accessories . . .
